2020 Annual Legislative Conference
The League's Annual Legislative Conference provides a unique experience to connect with higher education advocates and engage with members of the California State Legislature to discuss important policy issues. Attendees will discuss priority issues, hear best practices, and learn about strategies to successfully advocate for community colleges.
The Annual Legislative Conference, scheduled January 26-27, 2020, is held in conjunction with the Effective Trusteeship and Board Chair Workshops, January 24-26, 2020. Separate registration is required.
Who Should Attend
Trustees, CEOs, PIOs, and community college advocates interested in legislation that impacts California's community colleges should attend the League's Annual Legislative Conference. The conference educates attendees on important state and federal legislation and policy initiatives; provides attendees with the opportunity to shape statewide policies and federal advocacy agenda; and offers sessions with key members of the California State Legislature and staff.
Full Conference - $590
The full conference registration fee includes all workshops and sessions, as well as all conference meals and receptions.
Advocacy Team - $480
To encourage advocacy among our colleges, we offer a discounted rate of $480 per person for teams of five (5) or more. Examples of Advocacy Teams include a trustee, faculty member, administrator, classified member and a student from the same college OR any combination of participants from the same college. A separate registration form must be completed for each individual and should be purchased on the same day.
Student/Large Advocacy Team - $415
For students or teams of 15 or more, we offer a discounted rate of $415 per person. To qualify, each team must be from the same college. A separate registration form must be completed for each individual and should be purchased on the same day.
Sunday, January 26 (One-day registration) - $370
This full-day registration fee includes all conference workshops, sessions, and meals on Sunday, January 26.
Monday, January 27 (One-day registration) - $350
This full-day registration fee includes all conference workshops, sessions, and meals on Monday, January 27.

Registration Cancellation Policy
All refund requests must be made in writing. To request a refund for your registration email Sadie Brown at firstname.lastname@example.org. A $50 processing fee will be charged for all refunds. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after January 17, 2020.

All conference sessions will be held at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in downtown Sacramento. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Sheraton at a rate of $182 for single or double occupancy, plus room/tax. Once you are registered for the conference, you will receive a confirmation email which will provide links for making your room reservations. The contracted hotel group rates are available until 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2020, or until the room block is sold out. Reservations made after that date will be based on the hotel’s availability and subject to an increased guest room rate.
Be sure to register for the Convention and book early as the room block may sell out before the deadline!
Hotel Reservation Cancellation Policy
A deposit equal to a one-night stay will be charged at the time the guest room reservation is made. Upon check-in, it will be applied to the guest’s bill. Deposits paid by guests are refundable, if notice is received by the hotel by 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2019 and a cancellation number is obtained.

The hotel is a 15-minute drive from Sacramento International Airport. Airport Super Shuttle Service to the Sheraton Grand is $18. Use this link to make your shuttle reservation. Shuttle service picks up outside the airport terminals.
For registered guests, parking at the hotel is $25 per day for self-parking and $32 per day for valet parking. For daily guests, parking at the hotel is $30 per day for self-parking and $34 per day for valet parking.
